On the way from Leitrim to Salthill, Galway

Grudgingly and with heavy hearts we left Patty's and headed for Galway. It took about 3 and a half hours and we got to our B&B, Marless House which is kind of a favorite with Berks Countians. Some of my friends from the AOH stay there and even Judge Linda Ludgate of the Berks Courts. It was kind of strange to finally pass through some of the places I had researched over the years, always wondering if that was the place my relatives came from, of course it wasn't even close, but it was still exciting to go through those places like Carrick-on-Shannon and of course actually Leitrim, although we didn't have time to stop unfortunately that will be for another trip and there will be other trips. Along the way to Galway we saw Abbys, Castles and other landmarks and we wanted to stop, but we were running out of time and daylight and again it isin't easy to drive in Ireland at nighttime, so we just kept at it till we got to our B&B and hoped that it was still there for us. We got to Galway at about 10:30 in the evening, just enough time to get a cab and get a bite to eat and a couple of pints and then home to sleep. I slept very well, what a great day it had been and I dreamed well and woke the next day very happy. On this page are some pics as we came from Leitrim to Galway. The top left is Carrick-on-Shannon, the next one is of course Leitrim and the next one was an abbey we couldn't visit. One the bottom row is Marless House and the middle is a view of Galway Bay just down the street a little way from Marless House and on the right is just a picture of some of the neat architecture of some of the buildings in Galway.
