Dunglaire Castle, County Galway was not a military castle. It was basically a place built for a landowner in the 12th century. You see this type of architecture in castles in this part of Ireland. Galway and Claire has probably 20 or more castles of this type. Dunglaire Castle is a working castle which hosts banquets and the like. The picture in the top right is a picture I took about a mile from the castle. I saw the boat in the water and couldn't pass it up. On the bottom right is of course me and Deb. |
