Second Day Search Part 3

When I came out of the church, again I was ready to head to Galway. I thought this search was over, but all-in-all I was very satisfied and happy. I would have loved to have met my relatives whoever they were, but it is not easy in Ireland to find people, but I still had the letter and I was looking for the rectory which I assumed would be nearby, no such luck, so in the picture above unfortunately its the only picture I have of the building is a white house behind the church to the left. Deb and I walked in there hoping to find someone who could take care of the letter for me, and to tell me where the rectory was. Again I have no further pictures of what happened there, it was just too crazy and exciting, but I can relate how it went. We walked in and there was a man and a woman and their 2 teen-age children. by the way the building was actually the Post Office. At the time of course I didn't know it, but the man's name was Jerry Reilly. I asked the lady where the rectory might be and she told me it wasn't close and that the father was out of town. The building was so close to the church I knew they must have the key, so I asked the lady if she would take care of the letter for me and of course she said yes. She then asked me who I was looking for and I still think if I had said Doherty that would have been the end of the line, but I said the relatives of Mary Boyle and when I did the man looked at me with a big smile. I had no idea why. He then just calmly said to me "then you must be looking for Patty Boyle" and of course I had no idea who Patty Boyle was, so I asked him again and he again smiled at me and he told me that Patty was probably my cousin, that simple. It did not register with me at first but Deb caught on right away. I mean I was really lost. It turned out that Jerry was my second-cousin's wife's first-cousin. Amazing as that sounds that is what happened. He also had seen Patty's wife driving down the road that morning and he knew she probably wasn't home so he said he would call Patty who wasn't home so he then tried to call Patty's sister my other second cousin Kathleen Reilly, again she wasn't home, but he gave us good directions and now we were on the way. We still didn't know exactly where we were going, but we were going. I still left the letter behind just in case, cause I knew we weren't coming back. We followed the directions and you can see in the top right photo the road we went down. In Ireland if you don't live in a big town, you live out in the woods and that is where Patty lived the picture in the top is a good picture of the roads, but as we got closer to his house there were only dirt roads and finally we arrived and of course the picture right bottom is in front of Patty's house.
