Derry, Northern Ireland

The above picture is looking from the walls of Derry at the Bogside the Catholic part of Derry. This was the site of Bloody, Bloody, Sunday. In 1972, 20 civilians were murdered on the Bogside by a British Parachute Division who panicked and opened fire against defenseless civilians, during a civil rights march, obviously one of the hot points of the IRA campaign in Northern Ireland. On the left bottom one of the murals you will see on the buildings in the Bogside. In the middle a sign from the protestant part of town and on the right the war memorial honoring the dead of Derry in World War I and World War II.
